CEO, Therapist, Supervisor, Speaker, and Coach

Just a few questions:

  • Have you been holding onto some painful secrets, that you have never shared with another soul?
  • Are you struggling with unwanted, negative, and/or racing thoughts and don’t know how to change the narrative? Do these thoughts intensify when you are around others, preventing you from socializing?
  • Are you struggling to maintain relationships due to not being able to find the right words?
  • Have you ever felt so low and hopeless that you contemplated if you should live or die?
  • Are you self medicating with substances, so that you can forget about what is causing you pain?

If you said yes to any of the questions above, you are now free to take a deep breath because there is hope. While I cannot promise you that hard times will never occur, I can say that your life can most definitely be improved and enjoyable, by processing the unresolved and through unburdening yourself from the things that are keeping you “stuck.”

Who Am I?

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) with over seven years of clinical experience. My counseling practice is rooted in cultural humility, trauma-informed care, and a commitment to fostering collective healing. I specialize in working with individuals facing challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, and life transitions, with a focus on empowering clients from marginalized communities.

How I See the World:

I believe that our lived experiences—shaped by personal history, systemic oppression, and intergenerational influences—profoundly impact our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. While we cannot change the past, we can change our relationship to it, finding new ways to think about and respond to our experiences. This process, though painful at times, can lead to meaningful growth and reduced suffering.

For marginalized clients, healing is not just about addressing individual struggles but also about navigating systemic barriers and reclaiming identity. I view the counseling process as a partnership where clients are empowered to explore their inner worlds and make transformative changes in a way that honors their unique journeys.

How I Help:

My approach to counseling has evolved over time. While I began my career with a strong foundation in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I recognized its limitations when applied without cultural context. Today, my work is informed by culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and body-based practices.

Instead of focusing solely on restructuring unhelpful thoughts, I place emphasis on understanding the activating events and environmental factors that shape those thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I also recognize that trauma often manifests in the body, particularly for clients who have experienced intergenerational harm or systemic oppression. This is why I incorporate somatic practices and trauma-informed approaches into my work, balancing mental safety with opportunities for emotional release and healing.

For marginalized clients, this means tailoring interventions that acknowledge systemic challenges and cultural values. By addressing the gaps in traditional counseling approaches, I ensure that my clients receive care that is compassionate, inclusive, and deeply resonant with their lived realities.

How I Got Here:

Over the years, my counseling philosophy has transformed. Initially, I identified as a relationally focused CBT counselor, but I soon realized the need to decolonize my approach and expand my understanding of healing. This led me to explore the intersections of cultural humility, ancestral healing traditions, and systemic advocacy.

Today, I aspire to become a politicized healer—a practitioner who integrates the understanding of structural power, colonization, and community-centered healing into their work. This journey challenges me to move beyond individualism, embrace collective well-being, and empower others to do the same.

Why I Do This Work:

My mission is to serve as a catalyst for healing and empowerment, particularly for clients from marginalized communities. I believe that healing is a deeply personal and collective process, one that requires us to challenge societal norms, confront systemic barriers, and reclaim our narratives.

I am passionate about creating spaces where clients can explore their identities, process their pain, and rediscover their strength. Through culturally responsive and trauma-informed care, I strive to help clients navigate life’s challenges while embracing the fullness of who they are.

On a personal note, I am a California girly at heart. I love the beach; and I am working on a doctorate degree in Counselor Education and Supervision (the final countdown). Go Mean Green! Working in my calling as a counselor is my jam; however, over the years I have become extremely passionate about training students, licensed therapists, and medical professionals. Outside of work/my life's purpose, being an auntie is my favorite role of all. My babies who are now teens fill my cup... and attempt to empty my wallet, but that is neither here nor there.

If you are willing to do the work and ready to be vulnerable in a safe space, I am ready to be on your team! I can’t wait to learn more about you and assist you on your journey of reviving to thriving. Please email or call, so that we can connect!
