Nancy Townsend, LPC Associate, NCC

Just a few questions:

  • Have you ever felt overwhelmed with school, work, children, or just life in general?
  • Has life changed unexpectedly?
  • Is past trauma preventing you from experiencing life to its fullest?
  • Have you been dealing with feelings of sadness or hopelessness that do not seem to go away?
  • Do you feel isolated or misunderstood?

If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, just know, you are not alone. We all encounter a time when we feel insecure, overwhelmed, scared, or even lost. Sometimes these issues can become unbearable, but with the right tools and a strong ally we can grow and heal in ways that we never thought possible.

More About Your Therapist:

I am a fully bilingual (Spanish/English) Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, supervised by Lacey Fisher, LPC-S, RPT-S, PMH-C, and I am a National Certified Counselor. I specialize in trauma, grief & loss, life transitions, and immigration. Most of my experience stems from working closely with victims of crime, as well as immigrants who recently arrived to the US. In my counseling career, I have had the honor of working with children over the age of 5, adolescents, adults of all ages, and groups in a variety of settings such as a children’s advocacy center, high school, detention center, and a nonprofit agency geared towards empowering marginalized groups.

I offer support in a genuine, empathetic, and non-judgmental manner. I strive to build a therapeutic alliance that can offer you the necessary support to help you in your journey towards healing. I practice from a trauma informed, culturally responsive, person-centered approach, while incorporating CBT, DBT, mindfulness, Bibliotherapy, and expressive arts based on your needs. I believe that growth can happen by feeling supported and heard.

My goal is to provide you with a safe space, to meet you where you are, gently challenge you, but most importantly be your biggest ally. This path to healing is about you and I hope to have the privilege in joining you on this journey.

A little bit about me. I was born and raised in Texas. The word ya’ll is a big part of my vocabulary. I am a daughter born to immigrant parents. I am also a wife and mother to 2 beautiful little humans and 3 fur babies. I love crafting and DIY projects. Life has taken me down various career paths but has always led me back to counseling. I hope to continue growing in my role as a therapist and eventually pursue a doctoral degree in counseling.
